Lyrica is the trade name of a prescription drug called pregabalin. Although it is an anticonvulsant or an antiepileptic drug, pregabalin is commonly prescribed to relieve nerve pain or neuropathic pain.
Neuropathic pain usually does not respond to common pain relievers such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen. This is because the mechanisms that cause neuropathic pain are different from the underlying causes of other pain.
Lyrica pregabalin was approved by the FDA in 2004. Pregabalin was first manufactured in the 1990's primarily to treat convulsions and seizures. Over the years, Lyrica pregabalin capsules have been used to treat other ailments.
These pills were prescribed to me for complex epilepsy therapy. Lyrica delivers what it promises. There were no side effects and allergies, which is especially important for me as I am an allergy sufferer. In general, I can say that the drug is worth the money.
